Autistic Keynote Speaker

I’m Dr. Daniel Wendler—an autistic clinical psychologist.

I know the struggles autistic people face because I’ve lived them. I’ve been the kid sitting alone in the cafeteria. I’ve been the adult getting fired instead of getting support.

And I know the solutions that autistic people need, because I’ve dedicated my life to finding them. I took the scientific rigor of clinical psychology and stress tested it against the reality of a neurodivergent life.

I’ve built my entire career around one question:

How do we build a world where autistic people can thrive?

As a speaker, I help your audience answer that question—clearly, practically, and in a way that actually creates change.

Meet Dr. Dan

Since my first TEDx talk in 2013, I’ve dedicated my career to helping autistic people flourish. I’ve spoken to hundreds of audiences across North America, and shared the stage with luminaries from Temple Grandin to Angela Duckworth.

A few of my bona fides:

  • My TEDx talk about my life with autism has inspired hundreds of thousands

  • I’m the co-author of the Great Courses Audible exclusive Neurodiversity and the Myth of Normal.

  • As “Dr. Dan the Autistic Psychologist” I reach over 200k social media followers with evidence-based insights about neurodiversity and mental wellness.

  • I’ve spoken to corporations, conferences, nonprofits, universities, hospitals, research laboratories, federal and state government agencies, the US Army and Navy (and the list goes on!)

I specialize in making life easy for event organizers.

My goal is to deliver a high-impact talk for your audience and a zero-stress experience for you. I’m committed to being the smoothest part of your entire event.

Plus, I pride myself on handcrafting a talk that makes your event amazing. Whether you need an in-depth training, an inspirational keynote, or something totally unique… you’ve come to the right guy.

Popular Autism Keynotes

  • A live performance of my TEDx talk, sharing my life growing as an autistic kid and inspiring your audience to reach out in friendship to someone different than them. Works great for fundraisers, inspiration, or awareness building.

  • A guide to the neurodiversity paradigm and how creating more inclusive environments can unlock the potential of autistic people. An excellent choice for any audience wanting practical strategies for helping autistic people flourish. Also available with a workplace focus for corporate audiences, or tailored to other professional contexts (clinicians, educators, etc.)

  • A practical and encouraging training on the cost and causes of autistic burnout. Includes clear steps for recognizing and responding to autistic burnout, and how autistic people (and their caregivers/loved ones) can work towards a life filled with autistic joy rather than autistic burnout.

  • A high-octane keynote that I co-deliver with fellow psychologist Dr. Kyler Shumway. We explain why autistic people often struggle with change and moving outside the comfort zone, and provide an empathetic and affirming guide to autistic growth without burnout.

  • Available as a co-led talk with my wife (who has ADHD.) We provide inspirational stories from our own love story and offer practical strategies for autistic people seeking romantic success.
